Ait Bouguemez Happy Valley Trek (5 Days)
A 5-day extended trek through the heart of the Central High Atlas, crossing the Ait Bouguemez Valley, locally known as the “Happy Valley”. The route combines views of the towering M’Goun massif with remote Berber villages that preserve their traditional architecture, with overnight stays at camps and local guesthouses, and mule support carrying luggage throughout.

Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Agouti - Into the Valley
Departure from Marrakech via Demnate and the natural bridge of Imi-n-Ifri, arriving at Agouti village (1,800m) in the Ait Bouguemez Valley where the mule team joins the trek. An introductory walk through the valley's terraced fields, with overnight at a local guesthouse.
Day 2: Valley Villages - Discovering Berber Life
A day's walk through a series of traditional Berber villages, with an optional visit to a women's weaving cooperative. Overnight at a guesthouse in one of the valley's remote villages.
Day 3: Ascent to the Plateau Below M'Goun
Gradual climb through a high mountain pass revealing panoramic views of the M'Goun range. Overnight at a mountain camp on the plateau, in a peaceful setting far from any settlement.
Day 4: Exploring the Plateau and Surrounding Valleys
A day dedicated to exploring the high plateau and nearby river sources, with a lighter route allowing recovery after the previous climbing days, with a second overnight in the same area or a neighboring village depending on weather conditions.
Day 5: Descent - Agouti - Marrakech
Gradual descent via different trails than the ascent route, passing through additional villages until returning to Agouti, where the trekking portion ends and the drive back to Marrakech begins.
